Safe by design
AdSnooze never modifies Spotify — no patching, no DLL injection, no account hijacking. It only mutes the operating system's audio. Nothing to ban, nothing to break on the next Spotify update.
Free · Windows · ~2 MB · no account
AdSnooze sits quietly on your desktop, hears the moment Spotify slips in an ad, and mutes it — then brings your music back the instant it ends. No Premium. No modding Spotify. No risk to your account.
the actual AdSnooze pill, live
Spotify's quiet. AdSnooze waits, using almost nothing.
Your music passes straight through. Untouched.
An ad starts — silenced in under a second. Music's back the moment it ends.
How it works
One tiny ~2 MB installer. No account, no sign-up, no configuration. It opens as a small glass pill on your desktop.
Keep using the Spotify app exactly as you do. AdSnooze just listens for the ad/song transition in the background.
When an ad starts, AdSnooze mutes Spotify's audio within a second and restores it the instant the ad ends. That's it.
Why AdSnooze
AdSnooze never modifies Spotify — no patching, no DLL injection, no account hijacking. It only mutes the operating system's audio. Nothing to ban, nothing to break on the next Spotify update.
The whole point is not paying $11.99/month just to skip ads. The core ad-mute is free, forever.
A ~2 MB install that idles under 0.5% CPU and ~80 MB RAM. Built on Tauri + Rust, not a bloated Electron wrapper.
No tracking, no phone-home, no analytics SDK. Any "ads muted" counters stay on your machine and are opt-in.
A true-transparent glass pill with native rounded corners and a live spectrum that morphs into MUTE when an ad's hushed. Drag it anywhere; shrink it to a tiny dot.

The trust part
Most "Spotify ad blockers" patch or mod the Spotify app — which can get your account flagged and breaks on every update. AdSnooze takes the boring, safe road.

Support the project
AdSnooze's core ad-mute stays free. The next step is a pay-what-you-want Founders Edition for people who want to support the app and unlock future cosmetic and power-user features.
Planned checkout: $2.99 minimum, about $7 suggested, one-time. No subscription, no monthly nag, no paywall on the core ad-muting behavior.
Supporter features will use a paste-in license token the app verifies locally. No account login and no always-online license check.
Tip-jar style links can help fund development, but they won't become the authorization system. The app stays simple and predictable.
FAQ
AdSnooze never touches the Spotify app or your account — it only mutes your computer's audio when an ad plays, the same as if you turned the volume knob down. There's nothing for Spotify to detect inside its app, because nothing inside its app is changed. (Note: muting free-tier ads still lives in a grey area of Spotify's terms; we don't modify Spotify, but use it with that understanding.)
Mute. The ad still plays silently in Spotify — AdSnooze doesn't skip it, remove it, or interfere with playback. It simply silences your speakers for its duration, then unmutes. That's exactly why it's safe.
Mute fires within about a second of an ad starting, and your music returns within about a second of it ending — using Windows' published media APIs (SMTC + Core Audio session enumeration).
No. The installer just isn't code-signed yet (signing is a paid certificate we're setting up). Until then, Windows SmartScreen shows a caution on any unsigned app. Click More info → Run anyway. The build is open about exactly what it does, and you can verify the download's SHA-256 below.
EZBlocker also mutes (it's the closest cousin) but is Windows-only and dated. BlockTheSpot, Spicetify and similar tools patch the Spotify client itself — powerful, but they can flag your account and break on Spotify updates. AdSnooze deliberately never modifies Spotify, and runs on a modern cross-platform codebase.
No. AdSnooze is telemetry-free — no tracking, no analytics SDK, no phone-home. Any “ads muted” counters are stored locally on your machine and are opt-in. Your listening data never leaves your computer.
No. AdSnooze never asks for, stores, or uses your Spotify account, password, or OAuth tokens. It watches the operating system's media signal, not your account.
It's built for the free tier (Premium already has no ads). It won't hurt anything on Premium — it just won't have ads to mute.
The core ad-mute is free, forever. The planned optional Founders Edition is pay-what-you-want support for future cosmetic and power features — but the core job stays free. No subscription.
No. The planned Founders Edition uses a paste-in license key that AdSnooze can verify locally. The free app does not require an account, card, or license key.
Yes. Tip-jar style donation links can exist separately as pure support. The official Founders Edition checkout is the source for future supporter-feature licenses so donations and authorization don't get mixed together.
Featherweight: a ~2 MB download, under 0.5% idle CPU, and under 80 MB RAM. It's a tiny glass pill built on Tauri + Rust, not a background hog.
Not currently public. The trust substitute: AdSnooze is telemetry-free and explicit about exactly what it does and doesn't do — this page documents the full mechanism and publishes the installer's SHA-256 so you can verify the binary you downloaded.
Like any Windows app — Settings → Apps → AdSnooze → Uninstall, or via the Start-menu shortcut. It leaves nothing running and stores no cloud data.

Changelog
AdSnooze now keeps the pill above a linked player pop-out, adds a tray icon with Show/Quit so closing the window never leaves a headless process, fixes refresh getting stuck in standby/yellow, fixes mute/unmute state going stale after view changes, prevents linked-drag drift, and stops tiny-mode lock/link tooltips from cropping.
AdSnooze remembers your last view and screen position, launches only that view, tightens mini-pill spacing, improves drag behavior, clarifies the Cycle View tooltip, and adds Launch on startup plus Auto-open with your player settings.
